Applying car wax periodically to the surface of a car gives it a sheen and keeps it looking new for a long time. Shopping online will give you many choices of car wax brands suitable for your car. Reading consumer reports about the different brands of car wax will help the customer make an educated choice among brands. Car wax is an investment because it protects the paint of the car from fading and reacting with pollutants and prevents the metal on the surface of the car from rusting.

The car looks clean and new for a longer time after a periodic application of car wax and its reselling value increases Car polishes are not the same as car wax because they merely buff the car and remove any dust accumulated on the surface while car wax gives a clean protective and shining coat to the paint of the car. It is recommended that car wax be applied every three months for the best effect Water cannot remove spots on the surface of a car as effectively as car wax. When you drive a car to which you have applied car wax often the car will look good and you will feel good driving it.

Self-Service Car Wash: The best thing about a self-sevice (generally coin-operated) car wash is that you’ll use much less water than you’d normally use at home. For an average sized, not-too-dirty car, a self serve car was uses up only 12 to 14 gallons of water. Plus, if you’re using a self-serve wash with your own products, you can choose what to use. One thing you don’t get with a self-serve car wash, however, is the lovely convenience of washing your car without even leaving the house– or getting it all done for you at a full-service.

Professional Service Car Wash: There are a lot of great things about using a professional car wash.

Hand waxes in small tubs yield better paint protection and need to be used less often, although they are harder to apply.

Now that you know which car wax is best for you and your needs, it is time to start waxing! First, you will need to wash your car well, making sure that you dry it completely afterward. Next, park your car in the shade or in a cool spot. Picking a cool day is optimal so that the wax does not dry too quickly for you to remove it effectively.

A damp sponge, and a soft terry cloth rag are all you will need for waxing.

However, most car polishes have abrasive component to help remove the oil and grime marks. Some car polish products also include filler agents to fill in the gaps left by scratch marks.

Application of car polish is a painstaking procedure, a technique that needs to be mastered. Before applying car polish, your car must be washed thoroughly. Wash first with plain water and then with a car specified detergent mix.

Begin waxing only after your have thoroughly washed and dried your car.

Dry the car off, then apply the car polish one small section at a time to the exterior. I would suggest testing your car polish on a small, non-visible section to make sure that it won’t have adverse effects on the finish. I try to work from the top to the bottom of the car-there is a great chance of having dirt left on the bottom of the car. If you make that your last section, you won’t rub dirt all over the entire car-it will be concentrated to that one area.

The third stage is to again wash off the car detergent with plain water. Chamois leather or micro fiber towel is recommended to dry the car exterior. The next step is to apply the car polish with an applicator brush in an even manner. It is important to apply the car polish evenly, making sure you leave no holidays. Leave the car polish to dry off for the time period specified as per the car polish manual of instructions.

You can use a natural sea sponge or a synthetic sponge, the choice is yours! A sturdy bucket is the next of the car wash supplies. You can use any sort of bucket, provided that it holds at least a couple of gallons of water. A bucket and sponge would be no good, however, without some car wash soap!

Using specially formulated car wash soap is important. It is best to stick with the real thing, since house hold soaps could ruin the finish on your car. Once you have the basic car wash supplies needed, you can being washing.

The problem with the clear coat is that it’s a reflective layer of paint that is super thin. Clear coat is only a very thin layer of paint that is reflective. Since the clear coat is so thin it causes any kind of scratch to stand out. So if a car does not get washed and waxed on a regular basis it will begin to look dull from the elements of the world like acid rain.

The Florida panhandle was found to have more air pollution above any specific area of any other state.

There are some important tips which you should consider before using car wax. Firstly, it is considered that the best car wax is carnauba wax which seals better and easily applicable. Secondly, the easier the application of the wax, the more regularly it can be used. It can also be used for removing the spots on the cars which cannot be removed after washing. Furthermore, it should not be left on car for more than two hours otherwise it will become difficult to remove it.
